UFC 184 results recap: Ronda Rousey vs Cat Zingano fight review and analysis

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweights Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano scrapped for the title last night (Feb. 28, 2015) at UFC 184 inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Rousey had utterly demolished each and every one of her previous opponents. While Zingano definitely brought some new obstacles to the table, "Rowdy" was looking to treat her like each of her past victims.

After nearly two years of build up, Zingano had finally been given her chance to challenge for the title. Known for both her fight-finishing ability and toughness, Zingano was intent on beating the odds last night.

That didn't happen.

Zingano immediately started the bout with a kick knee. This caused a scramble, and Rousey was immediately on her opponent's back.

From there, it was classic Rousey. She used Zingano's underhook against her, countering with an arm bar.

And just like that -- just 14 seconds -- the fight was over.

Once again, this was an incredibly dominant victory for the champion. Without much opposition, Rousey was able to take out a legitimate challenger within 20 seconds.

At this point, it's tough to figure out what's next for Rousey. The bantamweight queen continues to smash through any woman willing to step into the cage and has made it look quite easy.

She's just that far ahead of her division.

At this point, there's perhaps two legitimate challenges to Rousey's reign. The most immediate is Holly Holm, who put on a so-so performance in the co-main event. Barring injury or some other freak circumstance, Rousey will face off with the boxer in her next bout.

The wildcard challenger is most certainly Cris "Cyborg." She just demolished a woman in less than one minute last night featherweight, yet she's still talking about a drop to 135 pounds. If "Cyborg" can make the weight, that's the most intriguing match up in the division.

Should Rousey surpass these hurdles... Well, there's always a third match with Miesha Tate.

Unfortunately for Zingano, her toughness simply wasn't enough here. She does possess some skills that could threaten the champion, but the former flyweight does not have the physicality necessary to impose them on her opponent.

Still, Zingano is more than likely gunning for another chance. Considering the division's depth -- or lack thereof -- it could only be a couple of wins before she makes it back to a title eliminator match up.

At UFC 184, Rousey countered her opponent's aggression for a quick arm bar win. Where does the champion go from here?
