New day, new card.
World Series of Fighting (WSOF) continues its circuit around North America with a stop at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz., on March 28, 2015, for WSOF 19: "Gaethje vs. Palomino."
WSOF lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, last fought in Nov. 2014 in a non-title bout against Melvin Guillard. The title was not on the line because Guillard missed weight, but Gaethje's unblemished record was, and with the win, he improved to 13-0 as a professional.
Top contender Luis "Baboon" Palomino has lost as recently as 2013, but is so far undefeated in WSOF. He's known for his devastating first round knockouts, bringing the kind of power to this fight that "Young Assassin" threatened, but was unable to deliver.
WSOF 19 will also mark the opening round of a light heavyweight tournament to crown the inaugural division champion. Two 205-pound quarterfinal match ups are scheduled for Phoenix -- Ronny Markes (15-3) vs. Thiago Silva (16-3) and Matt "The Hammer" Hamill (11-5) against an opponent yet to be determined.
Tickets for WSOF 19: "Gaethje vs. Palomino" go on sale Feb. 10, 2015, at Ticketmaster and all available outlets.
