UFC 186 odds: T.J. Dillashaw opens as betting favorite over Renan Barao

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight kingpin T.J. Dillashaw is gearing up to defend his 135-pound strap against No. 1 contender and former champion, Renan Barao.

And he'll do it as the -280 favorite.

That's according to the opening line over at 5Dimes (via BestFightOdds.com), which pegs Barao as the underdog at +200. The duo are already penciled in for a headlining title fight at the upcoming UFC 186 pay-per-view (PPV) event on April 25, 2015 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (more on that matchup here).

Barao punched his ticket for a rematch after defeating Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58 last December (recap). Of course, he only got the title fight after Dominick Cruz -- T.J.'s original foe -- suffered yet another injury.

Dillashaw, meanwhile, has one successful title defense -- on 24 hours notice over Joe Soto -- since dethroning Barao back in 2014 in one of the biggest upsets the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) has ever seen.

Expect these numbers to shift dramatically as fight night moves ever closer. Until then, who's rushing out to lay some cheddar on this 135-pound showdown?

And in which direction?
