Following his unanimous decision defeat to Anderson Silva this past weekend at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in the main event of UFC 183, most expected Nick Diaz would not be back inside the Octagon for quite some time.
Once it was revealed that both he and "The Spider" failed separate UFC 183 drug tests -- Silva for steroids and Diaz for marijuana (again) -- it seemed all but certain that the Stockton native would not be returning anytime soon.
Considering a suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is imminent -- and probably lengthy considering he has failed for marijuana twice before -- Diaz is ready to hang up his gloves (for the third time).
Apparently Diaz is done fighting -- even after making a ton of money at UFC 183 -- and it probably should not come as a shock to fans of the Stockton native considering he has said previously that he only wanted to return to the cage for a fight against Anderson Silva (check!), or a rematch against Georges St-Pierre.
Considering St-Pierre himself is retired, and Diaz will be forced to attend a disciplinary hearing in March or April for his failed UFC 183 test, Diaz's performance against "The Spider" this past Saturday may truly be the last time we see the fan-favorite inside Octagon.
