"Mutante" Cezar Ferreira was eager to win his fifth fight in six attempts inside the Octagon tonight (Sun. Feb. 22, 2015) at the expense of Sam Alvey in a 185-pound showdown featured on UFC Fight Night 61's televised FOX Sports 1 card from Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
And The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil" Middleweight winner was off to a great start before he allowed Alvey to hit him ... just twice.
Alvey, as his nickname suggests, was all smiles during the in-ring introductions. Mutante snarled in response. The Brazilian got things going with a few kicks, one of which was of the back-spinning variety. He mixed things up shortly thereafter with a variety of punches, one of which was the Superman variety, all before Alvey even tried anything.
Mutante missed with a gorgeous capoeira kick and continued to push the pace. Alvey, meanwhile, plodded forward looking completely inept.
And then it happened: Alvey landed a crushing overhand right, left-hook combination that put Mutante out before he hit the canvas. Regardless, Alvey made sure Mutante was finished, adding several head bouncers before the referee stepped in to stop the action.
SMILE!
