UFC Fight Night 61 results: Frank Mir knocks out Bigfoot Silva in two minutes

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight kingpin, Frank Mir, has been in a tailspin, losing four consecutive matches and inspiring the social media meme, #LastTimeMirWon.

Accordingly, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace was well aware that his five-round main event showdown against "Bigfoot" Antonio Silva in the main event of UFC 161 tonight (Feb. 22, 2015) was potentially a "do or die" career situation.

Well, Mir "did" his thing, finally, inside Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Brazil (watch full fight video highlights here).

Mir came out looking to dictate pace, pumping a left jab and landing a nice left hook as Bigfoot fell back into the fence. Bigfoot tossed out a few feeble leg kicks, giving Mir an opening to unleash a jab, then blistering left hook that dropped the Brazilian.

As Bigfoot fell to the canvas, seemingly in slow motion, Mir unloaded about 10 unanswered punches and elbows until the referee finally stepped in, giving the former division champion his first victory in four years.

And a great addition to his highlight reel.
