Super Bowl 2015 final score, recap: Patriots beat Seahawks, 28-24; Tom Brady wins MVP

New, comments

It's a wrap!

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Last night (Sun., Feb. 1, 2015) the New England Patriots did exactly what many thought they would -- at least according to the betting lines -- and defeated the Seattle Seahawks to win Super Bowl 49 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona by a final score of 28-24.

And Tom Brady, who went 37/50 for 328 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 INTs, won the MVP award.

The Seahawks started slow, surged in the second and third quarter, and faded in the fourth, as the best defense in the league failed to hold a 10 point lead. Still, Seattle was poised to take the lead in the final 30 seconds when Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell called an inside slant from the one yard line on 2nd and Goal and Russell Wilson threw an interception.

That's heartbreak.

There's always last year!
