Hide your ducks, Phillipe Nover is back in town.
The lightheaded Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 standout, who is perhaps best remembered for being tagged "the next Anderson Silva," will make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) return -- as a featherweight -- when he steps into the cage against Yui Chul Nam.
Where and when?
At the upcoming UFC Fight Night 65: "Edgar vs. Faber" mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for Sat., May 16, 2015 on FOX Sports 1 from inside the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines. That's according to a report from ABS-CBN Sports (via Bloody Elbow).
He's earned it.
Nover (10-5-1) was bounced in 2010 after going winless in UFC but is now the winner of three straight, including a submission win over Dan Cion at Ring of Combat (ROC) 50 just last month in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Nam, meanwhile, is 18-4-1 and coming off five straight wins overseas (including one for UFC).
Who takes it?
UFC Fight Night 65 will mark the promotion's Philippines debut, headlined by a 145-pound "super fight" pitting former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar against ex-WEC featherweight kingpin Urijah Faber.
