snapped a two-fight losing streak last night (Sat., Feb. 14, 2015) in the main event of UFC Fight Night 60 main event from 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
And the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)champion did it in dramatic fashion.
Stepping up on short notice to replaceagainst , and giving up about six inches and possibly 25 pounds, Henderson found himself in the fight of his life. Thatch bullied Henderson early and wanted to register a quick finish, but "Smooth" was able to weather the turbulent storm.
The second round was the toughest, with Thatch using his size and strength to literally bully Henderson across the cage. There was no quit in Henderson, however, who began to turn the tide in the third round thanks to an effective takedown. He wore down Thatch and then did more of the same in the fourth frame, getting the fight back to the ground and then ultimately locking in a fight-finishing rear-naked choke.
Henderson has been apart of many great fights against more notable names, but it's safe to say that his come-from-behind win over Thatch last night might be his best yet.
And if he can get a fight against-- or another top-ranked contender -- next, Henderson just find new life at 170 pounds. Size, it seems, doesn't really seem to matter.
