Talk about highlight-reel violence ladies and gentleman.
Former Bellator MMA middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko returned to the win column on Friday night (Feb. 13, 2015), as he landed a brutal spinning backfist/forearm that had Melvin Manhoef seeing stars as he fell to the mat unconscious in the main event of Bellator 133 on Spike TV live from Fresno, California.
Manhoef was out the second the Russian's forearm smashed into his face, but Shlemenko was able to follow up with two powerful shots on his stiffened up opponent before referee John McCarthy could jump in to stop the onslaught.
Manhoef has now been finished in vicious fashion in two straight fights -- as Joe Schilling turned his lights out at Bellator 131 -- a mere three months apart from one another. Although he has had a lauded MMA career, it may be time for "No Mercy" to hang up his gloves at the age of 38 following his 12th career knockout loss (in MMA and Kickboxing combined).
As for "Storm," the former Bellator MMA champ called for a rematch against current champion Brandon Halsey, who submitted Shlemenko in only 35 seconds to become the champ at Bellator 126.
Who's down for the Halsey vs Shlemenko rematch?
