If you've got a captive audience live on NBC Sports, you might as well take advantage of it and announce some upcoming fight cards for your promotion.
That's exactly what World Series of Fighting (WSOF) did last night. In a pre-taped interview between WSOF President Ray Sefo and announcer Bas Rutten, Sefo revealed two big cards coming up on April 10th and June 5th.
WSOF 20 will be in Mashantucket, Connecticut, on April 10th, while the June 5th card will feature WSOF's return to the Edmonto Expo Centre. The first card is headlined by two former UFC fighters: Matt "The Hammer" Hamill (11-5) and Vinny "Pezao" Magalhaes (12-7, 1 NC), one half of a light heavyweight tournament. The other half will be Thiago Silva (16-3, 2 NC) vs. Ronny Markes (15-3).
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Feb. 13 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Underneath them in the co-main event will be controversial Melvin "The Young" Assassin Guillard (32-14-2, 2 NC) taking on the up-and-coming WSOF star Ozzy Dugulubgov (6-2) in a lightweight bout -- if Guillard makes weight.
The WSOF 21 card in Edmonton is an explosive welterweight showdown between Yushin "Thunder" Okami (30-9) and Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford (22-5). Tickets go on sale at on Friday, Feb. 13 at 12:00 p.m. MT, at Ticketmaster.com.
Underneath them in the co-main event are heavyweight champion Smealinho "The Prince" Rama (9-1) putting his title on the line against judo black belt Blagoy Ivanov (11-1).
WSOF promises to announce additional bouts for both cards at a future date.
