Miesha Tate didn't take too kindly to the fact that Sarah Kaufman labeled her a "coward" for not accepting a fight against her inside the Octagon.
So, "Cupcake" posted a picture of the CT scan (via Instagram) that shows a break in her orbital bone -- an injury she suffered at the hands of Sara McMann during their bantamweight bout at UFC 183 a few weeks ago (video) -- to prove to Sarah that "she sure as hell" isn't afraid of her.
Check it out:
I wasn't going to bother posting the CT Scan picture of the break in my orbital bone BUT since Kaufman referred to me as a coward and said I turned down the fight w her repeatedly, I figured I would post the proof. I have not been offered a fight at all because I am on injury suspension. I have always stepped up, never backed down from a fight. I don't think anyone can argue that I am a coward. I am not cleared to fight (or train) yet but trying to heal as quickly as possible. I want to fight Bethe Correia (the undefeated, tough, relevent fighter) when Im healed up but that sure as HELL doesn't make me scared of Kaufman
Not being able to accept a bout due to her medical suspension is just one of the reasons the two aren't squaring off again for a second time. Because as Tate puts it, she still has her sights on fighting someone more "relevant" like Bethe Correia.
The unfortunate wrinkle in that little plan, is that the Brazilian doesn't want to give Tate the time of day or share her "spotlight," as she is only interested in a title fight against Ronda Rousey.
Add that to the fact that Kaufman has now been booked to face off against Alexis Davis at UFC 186 on April 25, 2015 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and it seems Tate will have to find someone else to tango with, as her two options are now off the table.
