The New England Patriots came back from down 10 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Seattle Seahawks by a final score of 28-24 to win Super Bowl 49 tonight (Sun., Feb. 1, 2015) at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Because he threw for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns (although he did throw 2 interceptions to go with them), Tom Brady was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). The Patriots struck first on a slant to Branden Lafell but the Seahawks rode Marshawn Lynch (102 yards, 1 TD) and big plays from Russell Wilson to rookie Chris Matthews to take a 24-14 lead. They couldn't hold that advantage but did have it at the Patriots 1 yard line with under 20 seconds to go in the game. Instead of using Lynch to power home the winning touchdown, however, Wilson threw an interception to Malcolm Butler to close out the game. Add a fight on the ensuing series when New England was trying to down it to end the game and this one had it all, folks.
