Donald Cerrone should sue for royalties.
Ben Henderson is taking a page out of the "Cowboy" playbook and stepping up on short notice to battle 170-pound wunderkind Brandon Thatch in the upcoming UFC Fight Night 60 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, set for Feb. 14, 2015 inside the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
And he'll do it as a welterweight, replacing the injured Stephen Thompson.
"Smooth" (21-5) is coming off back-to-back losses in the lightweight division, a weight class he once ruled with an iron toothpick. Though to be fair, his unanimous decision loss to the aforementioned Cerrone was a little on the questionable side and could have easily been scored in the other direction.
But that's water under the proverbial bridge.
Thatch (11-1), meanwhile, hasn't been seen for over a year, taking an extended break to heal up from a litany of injuries. Prior to his hiatus, "Ruckus" compiled an impressive 10-fight winning streak, which includes consecutive finishes over Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago.
