WSOF 27 brings 'The Future' to Memphis on Jan. 23

World Series of Fighting comes to the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, this January for a card featuring lightweight action in Caros Fodor vs. Mike Ricci and light heavyweight action in Teddy Holder vs. Shamil Gamzatov.

World Series of Fighting

The upcoming World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 27 card takes place January 23rd, 2015 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. WSOF matchmakers believe they've put together a card showcasing the "Future" of two weight classes.

Literally.

Caros "The Future" Fodor sports a 10-4 record and has won three out of his last four fights for ONE FC. The former Strikeforce and UFC fighter is also known for being the brother of the unorthodox and controversial Phoenix Jones.

He'll put his future on the line against Mike Ricci, a man who won his bout in the WSOF 25 lightweight tournament but was unable to continue due to injury. Ricci firmly believes he's one of the top three lightweights in the world.

Ricci will get another chance to prove it against Fodor, while elsewhere on the card, former light heavyweight tournament finalist Teddy Holder (9-2) faces the unbeaten Shamil Gamzatov (9-0).

Gamzatov was scheduled to fight at WSOF 26 in December, but a late withdrawal by Andreas "Sweet Swede" Spang canceled his chance to debut for WSOF in 2015.

"We are excited to make our debut in Memphis," said WSOF CEO Carlos Silva. "Thanks, in great part, to V3 Fights, which has a stellar reputation for putting together great events in that market and is helping us bring our brand of live, world-class MMA action to new fans."
