UFC on FOX 17 fighter payouts and salaries for the athletes who competed at the "Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone" FOX-televised event last Saturday (Dec. 19, 2015) inside Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., were released by Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Leading the pack is Alistair Overeem, who banked a whopping $542,857 payday after knocking out Junior dos Santos in the second round of their co-main event showdown (see it). The Heavyweight fight was the last one on "The Reem's" contract, which means now that it's time to re-up, he could be in line for an even bigger payday in his next outing.
As for "Cigano," he took home $400,000 in defeat.
Lightweight champion Rafel dos Anjos also hit it big, walking away with a $300,000 check after knocking out Donald Cerrone in little more than one minute to retain his 155-pound title (video replay here).
Also, in one of the most head-scratching salaries in the sport, long-time Octagon veteran Nate Diaz -- who has 21 fights and eight years with the promotion -- only managed to walk away with a $40,000 payday ($20,000 to show, $20,000 to win) after outclassing Michael Johnson.
