Tamdan McCrory: Josh Samman was 'oily' at UFC on FOX 17

After a six-year separation from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Tamdan McCrory made a successful return to the Octagon last weekend (Sat., Dec. 19, 2015) by defeating Josh Samman at UFC on FOX 17 in Orlando, Florida.

It wasn't easy, as Samman proved to be a tough nut to crack up until "The Barn Cat" caught him a triangle choke in round three to force the tap (watch it here).

A finishing move that proved tough to execute as Samman was very oily, according to McCrory's comments during a post-fight media scrum (via MMA Fighting).

"I wish I could have landed some cleaner shots, I wish I felt a little better and crushed him better than I did. But, you know he got in the scramble and I knew, as soon as I locked up the... I was working on the right arm, caught the left arm and put him the triangle. He was defending that rather well, plus it was slipping a little bit. Man, he was oily, I don't know what that kid put in his skin, but man he was sweating it back out on me, trust me. Then he went for that razor on the opposite side, and he tucked his shoulder back in and that's when I caught the angle I needed for the triangle. I was debating going for the arm until I heard him gurgle, so I just squeezed got control of the back of his head and I felt the tap."

Super sweat?

Despite the slippery situation, McCrory picked up his third straight victory with his previous two coming under the Bellator MMA banner. As for Samman, the loss snapped his four-fight win streak and he now finds himself on the defensive after "Barn Cat's" comments.
