They say all good things must come to an end ... but now wasn't the time for UFC Lightweight titleholder Rafael dos Anjos, who retained his 155-pound championship in destructive fashion by clobbering former foe Donald Cerrone with a vicious body kick and follow-up punches at UFC on FOX 17 tonight (Sat., Dec. 19, 2015).

The Brazilian brute hadn't fought since March, when he put a beatdown on then titleholder Anthony Pettis to win the belt. And he wasn't about to let his title reign be cut short before it started inside Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
Dos Anjos, 31, came into his headliner opposite "Cowboy" in the "Sunshine State" a winner of four straight and he made that five just a short time ago.
"RDA" pressed forward and ate a couple of hard leg kicks, but landed a left hand, and then a knee and body kick, which forced Cerrone to turtle up against the fence. Dos Anjos continued his unrelenting onslaught, dishing out more punishment, before Cerrone looked for the clinch.
Dos Anjos forced him to sprawl, which is when he pounded on Cerrone's face repeatedly, forcing the referee to call the bout just over a minute into round one.
Looks like Featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, just found himself a new dance partner in 2016 (read more on that here).
Dos Anjos establishes himself as one of the more feared forces inside the Octagon, while the defeat for Cerrone is a debilitating one, as he sees his eight-fight win streak go up in smoke.
