What is it about upsets these days?
Champions are falling like flies in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) over the recent months. And on tonight's (Sat., Dec. 19, 2015) UFC on FOX 17 card there were two upsets, including Alistair Overeem's destruction of former Heavyweight titleholder Junior dos Santos.

"The Reem" and "Cigano" were supposed to collide more than three years ago, but that didn't come to fruition because of a failed drug test by the former.
However, they were both available and healthy for a showdown in the "Sunshine State" this winter, but the pair sure didn't fight like they possessed mean streaks.
Such was the case for dos Santos especially, who appeared very hesitant, barely throwing a strike the entire frame. Instead it was Overeem, who set the tone with his signature K-1 kickboxing pedigree.
The 35-year-old Dutchman also landed a very good knee and left hand that staggered the Brazilian in round one.
Overeem, a southpaw, was searching for his left hand for much of the first frame, landing it on a couple of occasions.
dos Santos found success in round two, cornering Overeem against the fence momentarily, then rattling of a body combination, before the latter circled out of harms way.
Overeem then went back to maintaining distance with his kicks, before he landed a blistering left hook clean on the chin of Dos Santos to put him away with just 13 seconds left in round two.
For the Jackson-Wink MMA representative Overeem, it marks his second straight victory over a Top 10-ranked opponent and his third in-a-row overall. dos Santos, meanwhile, loses his first fight to a man not named Cain Velasquez.
