Bellator 148: "Koscheck vs. Secor" takes place Jan. 29, 2016, at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. The main event will see former UFC standout Josh Koscheck (17-10) make his promotional debut against Matt Secor (7-2).
An intriguing new fight has joined the main card of Bellator 148 on Spike TV, and it's a second chance for two Bellator veterans to re-assert their position in the fluid 170-pound division.
Paul Bradley came into Bellator 140 on July 17, 2015, having won two of his last three fights, including the main event of Bellator 129 in Council Bluffs. He had some momentum going his way heading into a card built around showcasing the welterweight division.
The same or more can be said of Chris Honeycutt, who brought an unblemished record (6-0) into Bellator 140, having finished all of his previous Bellator opponents by technical knockout. Their fight was one of the key bouts promoted by Bellator and Spike TV going into that card.
No one was left satisfied by the result. Honeycutt and Bradley clashed heads in the second round, leaving "The Gentleman" with a gash in his forehead so deep, the fight was stopped and the official decision was a "no contest."
With "Bradley vs. Honeycutt 2" booked for Bellator 148, we'll hopefully get a definitive result this time. And one of these men will emerge as a potential contender for Welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov.
