Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White granted Ronda Rousey an immediate rematch against Holly Holm, despite the fact that "Rowdy" was completely dominated en route to a devastating knockout loss at UFC 193 last month in Australia (video).
His reasoning?
"Rowdy" was the only women's bantamweight champion in history and was so dominant for so long that her achievements inside the Octagon are enough to warrant a second crack at "The Preacher's Daughter," even if it means putting the division title on ice until next July.
But would White be willing to do the same for Jose Aldo?
"Junior" was knocked out in just 13 seconds at the UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) last Saturday night (Dec. 12, 2015) in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch it), after spending the last 10 years as an unbeaten mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. In addition, Aldo was the only man to ever hold gold at 145 pounds (under the ZUFFA banner) until "Notorious" came along.
At least we know where former light heavyweight champ Jon Jones stands on the issue.
If Rousey is granted an immediate rematch I would expect the same treatment for Aldo. It only seems right https://t.co/taoqVItasU

That scenario would bench this guy.
It should be noted that White really likes Rousey, something that may not hold true for Aldo.
