The first finish on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 Finale mixed martial arts (MMA) card was a crushing left hook knockout by none other than Flyweight Geane Herrera.
"The Revolutionary" captured his first UFC win by storming back from a slow start in round one of his FOX Sports 1-televised "Prelims" tilt opposite Jackson-Wink MMA's Joby Sanchez inside "The Chelsea" at The Cosmopolitan tonight (Fri., Dec. 11, 2015).
Herrera picked his shots and didn't throw nearly as many strikes as Sanchez in the opening frame. Sanchez utilized a fast pace, combined with strikes to the head and body, to confuse the Florida-based fighter.
The 24-year-old gave up a takedown at the end of round one, but it was obvious who the more active striker was. Seemingly comfortable and in control, Sanchez unraveled in the second frame, losing most, if not all, of his aggressiveness.
Herrera countered at will, landing a good amount of left hooks, which was exactly the punch that polished off Sanchez.
