Submissions have been plentiful on tonight's UFC Fight Night 80 card, which takes place inside "The Chelsea" at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Following a gritty, come-from-behind win by women's Strawweight Kailin Curran over Emily Peters-Kagan in the Fight Pass "Prelims" opener, Englishman Danny Roberts earned the second submission victory of the evening by forcing American Top Team's Nathan Coy to tap to an armbar.
In the early portions of the bout, the American kept the pressure on and was in the face of "Hot Chocolate." Coy scored with jabs and leg kicks, before finding the takedown.
The prolific wrestler was unable to slide into Roberts guard, who immediately seized control of the former's arm. After it looked like he may lock up a triangle choke, the Liverpool native pulled back on Coy's wing for the tap at the 2:46 mark of the first round.
