UFC senior vice president Giovani Decker announced during the UFC Fight Night 77 post-fight press conference (via MMA Fighting) that UFC 197 will go down on March 5 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
The last time UFC was in beautiful Rio was this past August, which saw Ronda Rousey take out Bethe Correia in the very first round of UFC 190 (see it again here).
Of course, no potential bouts have been mentioned for the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event, however, Decker did drop a few names that could take part in the event.
Among them was Anderson Silva, who hasn't stepped foot inside the cage since UFC 183 earlier this year. That's because "The Spider" is suspended for failing his post-fight drug test.
Also, Vitor Belfort -- who knocked out Dan Henderson at UFC Fight Night 77 -- could also make his return to action in his home country.
If you ask me, it sounds like a rematch between Silva and Belfort would be right up Brazilian fans alley.
