HIGHLIGHTS! To watch Oliveira stop Hallman late with a killer KO click here!
Alex Oliveira knocked out Piotr Hallman cold at UFC Fight 77 on tonight (Sat., Nov. 7, 2015) inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
"Cowboy" landed a huge right hand on the incoming Hallman early on in third round, which sent the Polish fighter crashing to the canvas. Oliveira would land one more for good measure before referee Mario Yamaskai waved the fight off at the 0:51 mark of round three.
Oliveria got after it early with several big punches and opened up a cut above the left eye of the Polish fighter in the opening seconds of the first frame. The pace slowed down and the fight moved against the fence for much of the remainder of the round. The 27-year old Brazilan continued to push Hallman up against the cage before separating and connecting with solid punches at range.
In the second, Hallman scored a takedown early on where he landed in Oliveira's open guard. "Cowboy" avoided any significant damage and was able to force a stand up by referee Mario Yamaskaki. Oliveira landed a low kick, which caused Hallman to buckle and fall to the canvas. The fight went to the ground, and Hallman secured top position. From there the 28-year old controlled the Brazilian, but once again could not mount much offense.
Oliveira (13-2-1) picked up his third straight win in UFC and is now 3-1 in the promotion. Meanwhile, Hallman (15-5) has now lost three in a row.
