UFC Fight Night 77 results: 'Belfort vs Henderson 3' full play-by-play recaps for FOX Sports 1 'Prelims'

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will make its fifth trip to Brazil in 2015 for a UFC Fight Night 77 mixed martial arts (MMA) event starring veteran middleweight strikers Vitor Belfort (24-11) and Dan Henderson (31-13).

The pair of heavy-handed gunslingers will go to war for the third time inside Ginásio do Ibirapuera tonight (Sat., Nov. 7, 2015) in Sao Paulo, after a critical co-main event matchup in the light heavyweight division between former title challenger Glover Teixeira (23-4) and All-American wrestler Patrick Cummins (8-2).

Elsewhere on the main card, which airs live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) at 10 p.m. ET, are intriguing bouts showcasing countrymen Thomas Almeida (19-0) and Fabio Maldonado (22-8).

However, before we can to the evening's main dishes, fight fans are served up a slew of seven "Prelims" tussles, which begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on the Fight Pass streaming service and then transfer over to FS1 at 8 p.m. ET for the remaining four.

Below are the results recaps for the four UFC Fight Night 77 "Prelims" on FS1:

Gleison Tibau vs. Abel Trujillo

It's American Top Team (ATT) versus the Blackzilians all over again as longtime lightweight Tibau aimed to turn away "Killa."

Tibau shoots right in at the start for a double and gets it. Trujillo is right back up and we're in a clinch battle. He's got a hold of the neck. Tibau is out of the guillotine attempt and now has the back of Trujillo. He gets an arm under the neck and it's over. Tibau earns a questionable rear-naked choke victory.

The winner: Tibau via first-round rear-naked choke

Tibau gets back in the win column and vaults his record to 33-11, while Trujillo drops his second straight and falls to 12-7-(1).

Yan Cabral vs. Johnny Case

Good kicks from both men to begin. Case lunging forward, leading with a left. Takedown attempt from "Hollywood." Cabral attempts the triangle and Case sees it. They're back up with 4:00 left. The Brazilian is deep on a single leg and achieves it after some resistance by the American. Cabral works in half guard, but gets reversed by Case and then returns to full guard. Excellent grappling display. Cabral is in side control now. He's going for the kimura as he sits on top. Cabral lands a right hand on the way up and we're back to striking. Case scores with a knee to the body then rips another powerful shot to the abdomen. Round one ends.

Case has to move around more. He's got a good bounce going. The 26-year-old attempts a spinning elbow and stuffs a takedown. Case continues to work the body and legs of Cabral with kicks. The Nova Uniao staple scores with a right. Case walking down Cabral now and lands a right. He connects with a body shot and then catches Cabral with a clean punch, which drops the latter. Some nice ground and pround coming from the Power MMA stud. The pair are back to their feet with 2:00 left. Big body kick lands for Case. Cabral appears to have suffered an eye poke possibly. Cabral scores with a leg kick, but he's visibly exhausted. Case is putting together great combinations.

Hard leg kick on part of Cabral to start round three. He's in on a single, but Case is saved by the fence. The 32-year-old gets it and is straddling the back of Case now. They're on their feet against the cage. Uh oh. Cabral tosses him back down and has back mount. Now the body triangle. Very bad spot for Case. Good hand fighting so far. Case is trying to turn into the body of Cabral. Short punches from Cabral. Case is out and now working on getting back the round. He's in half guard. Nice, heavy punches to close out the finale frame on top and along the fence.

Clay Guida vs. Thiago Tavares

The 30-year-old Skelly scores the trip and is in butterfly guard. He gets to half guard. Skelly avoids getting caught in a submission and moves to side control. Shorts elbows from the American.
