UFC veteran Josh Burkman announces move to lightweight division

The Utah native will test the 155-pound waters in his next Octagon outing.

"The People's Warrior" is bringing his talents in mixed martial arts (MMA) down to the lightweight division of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for his next fight.

Burkman tallied an 0-2-(1) record at welterweight since stepping foot in ZUFFA for the second time back in Jan. 2015.

After his decision loss to Hector Lombard at UFC 182 was overturned to a "no contest" -- following a positive drug test on the part of "Lightning" -- the 35-year-old TUF veteran stumbled in consecutive bouts against Dong Hyun Kim and Patrick Cote.

Burkman hasn't won a UFC fight since Oct. 2007.

His overall UFC record stands at 5-7-(1) and if you were looking at a hint as to who his next opponent may be, look the other way.
