Pic: Bloody Will Brooks claims he was jumped by 'Pitbulls,' but Freire brothers insist he's lying

New, comments

Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks did some hard sparring ahead of this Friday night's Bellator 145 showdown against Marcin Held, but probably wasn't expecting the "Pitbull" brothers -- Patricio and Patricky Freire -- to step up and serve as his impromptu training partners.

Especially considering he was on the phone with his mom.

"Sucker punched me like the trash that they are with all their people around while I'm by myself," Brooks wrote on social media. "I've never had to sucker punch or jump anyone, I held things on my own, but these cowards aren't built like real men."

Patricio, however, presents a very different side of the story.

"Will Brooks is a liar," he insisted. "He hit Patricky first and came at me, I went after him too and my first punch landed. We were separated, then he came again, I knocked him down. He tried to take me down, we were separated again and he started calling us cowards."

Good thing Dave Sholler wasn't there.

"We are looking into the situation and gathering surveillance footage at this time," Bellator officials told "We have no further comment at this time."

Bellator 145 goes down this Friday night (Nov. 6, 2015) from inside Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, featuring a Spike TV main event pitting the aforementioned Patricio Freire against Daniel Straus in a 145-pound rematch of their Bellator 132 fight.
