Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently benched welterweight slugger Thiago Alves -- by way of injury bug -- and replaced him with Jorge Masvidal, who battles Ben Henderson in the UFC Fight Night 79 main event on UFC Fight Pass this Sat. morning (Nov. 28, 2015) in Seoul, South Korea.
"Gamebred" and "Smooth" were previously scheduled to tangle in a lightweight tussle at UFC Fight Night 63 back in April, but the latter instead opted for a short-notice engagement with Brandon Thatch in Colorado. Since his fourth-round stoppage of "Rukus," Henderson missed time due to injury woes of his own.
Masvidal, meanwhile, dropped a contested split decision to Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 63, before getting back into the win column against Cezar Ferreira last July, which was his first fight at 170 pounds in nearly five years. Another one in Seoul and he could be "in the mix."
We'll find out in just a few hours.
