Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk retained her title after a hard-fought decision win over Valerie Letourneau at the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) event earlier this month in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Watch the video highlights here.
Unfortunately for the champ, her hand did not escape the 115-pound title fight unscathed, which means another surgery was in order -- her second this year -- after five rounds of action "Down Under." The good news is, everything went according to plan, which could put her back into the cage in mid-2016, if not sooner.
As for her next opponent?
That's likely to be 13-1 contender Claudia Gadelha, who took Jedrzejczyk to a split decision in their first go-round at UFC on FOX 13 back in late 2014.
