Demetrious Johnson: I don't care whether I fight Henry Cejudo or Jussier Formiga

"Mighty Mouse" just wants a title defense on Super Bowl weekend ...

Say what you want about him, but Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson conducts himself inside and outside of the Octagon as he sees fit, which means he has no stake in the winner of the upcoming 125-pound title eliminator pitting Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo against the No. 3-ranked Jussier Formiga.

The pair of elite flyweights will exchange at the UFC Fight Night 78 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place tonight (Sat., Nov. 21, 2015) in Monterrey, Mexico.

Cejudo and Formiga have been two of the strongest grapplers in the weight class for quite some time, taking out a number of well-known names like Chris Cariaso and Wilson Reis, en route to three-fight win streaks.

Johnson, though, is willing to take on all comers (via MMAjunkie) -- on the way to his ultimate goal of attaining the record for consecutive UFC title defenses.

"I do [have a stake in this fight], but at the same time, I look at the date. I'm a date person. I don't care who I'm going to fight. I ask Dana White and Sean Shelby what day are we fighting because at the end of the day they'll be like, 'Hey, think about Henry Cejudo. You're next in line for the title shot.' They'll pass on him and give it to somebody else. They did it to Miesha Tate. I wait till I get my contract in my hand. I've seen them fight. I don't try to worry about that. You're just wasting energy worrying about who you're going to fight next. Once I have the date set, I can make sure I'm the best Demetrious Johnson ... [When he'd like to fight next] That's the one. I've already been training. I did the math. When I get home, it'll be 11 weeks out, which is plenty of time for me to get in good shape. My weight is still low."

Any sort of damage sustained by the victor in the duo's clash south of the border will go a long way in determining whether they collide with "Mighty Mouse" on Super Bowl weekend in February.

If it's any consolation to Johnson, Formiga plans on playing spoiler against "America's golden boy" Cejudo.
