I know UFC President Dana White has a bodyguard, but in this case, he may need to add another.
That's because top middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza is tired of waiting around for his 185-pound title shot, and believes a win over Yoel Romero at UFC 194 gets him the winner of Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold. If not, things may not play out so well for White.
"Jacare" talks to Combate (via Bloody Elbow):
"Rockhold sure cut the line, he wasn't supposed to be next. My title shot is long overdue, my friend. Here's the deal, in case I beat Romero, which is what will happen, I'm going after Dana. I can't go after the matchmaker, because Joe Silva is too small. Dana is a bit bigger. I'm next. I don't care who wins or loses the next title fight. I want to beat Romero, a really tough guy. I will defeat him and I will be next."
Yikes.
Souza is currently in the midst of an eight-fight win streak and has not lost in UFC to date (5-0). Romero, meanwhile, is also perfect inside the Octagon (6-0), most recently separating former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida from consciousness with brutal elbows at UFC Fight Night 70 back in June.
Heck of a fight ... who ya' got?
