Bellator 148 is scheduled to take place on Fri., Jan. 29, 2016 inside Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Tickets for the event go on sale on Nov. 20, the same day Bellator's "Kato vs. Manhoef" card takes place.
Two fighters on the Bellator 148 card have a longstanding rivalry that dates back to UFC 113 in 2010. On that day, Josh Koscheck out-wrestled Paul Daley en route to a unanimous decision victory in the night's co-main event.
Daley may have been frustrated given the bout was announced as a contender's fight to face Georges St-Pierre, and he expressed that frustration by punching Koscheck in the face AFTER the bell. He hasn't fought on a UFC show since, though history will record that he did have a few fights for the ZUFFA-owned Strikeforce promotion.
When Koscheck signed with Bellator, there was immediate speculation over when the two would fight again given Daley was already competing for the promotion, but on Jan. 29, the two combatants are on the same card but NOT fighting each other.
Koscheck (17-10) will make his Bellator debut against Matt Secor (7-2), winner of three straight fights in both World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and Bellator MMA. Daley (37-13-2), meanwhile, will be taking on Andy Uhrich (11-5), also a winner of three straight between SFC and Titan FC.
Additional Spike TV bouts will be announced at a later date.
