Kyle Noke gave the Australian fans something to cheer about after finishing his opponent Peter Sobotta quickly in the first round of their Fox Sports 1 "prelims" bout for UFC 193 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, tonight (Sat., Nov. 14, 2015).
The fight began with probing shots from both fighters in the early going before Noke shrugged off a takedown attempt by Sobotta. The Australian landed a number of early kicks, foreshadowing the dangerous striker's arsenal.
Sobotta connected with a body kick of his own, as the two fighters looked to trade kicks. Another low kick by Noke perhaps signalled a weakness in the defense of the German, because he followed up with a nasty body kick that sent Sobotta crumpled to the ground in a heap.
Noke followed him to the mat and mercilessly pounded on him until he got the stoppage at an official time of 2:01 into round 1.
Noke moves to 22-7-1 and picks up his second UFC win a row, while Sobotta falls to 15-5-1 and thus ends his eight fight unbeaten streak.
