UFC 193 results: Mark Hunt bombs Bigfoot Silva, scores decisive first round knockout in rematch

Mark Hunt and "Bigfoot" Antonio Silva looked to recapture the magic of their epic first encounter back in Dec. 2013 this evening (Sat., Nov. 14, 2015) at UFC 193, which took place inside Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

Even though it was a Heavyweight slugfest for the ages, it was stained weeks later when UFC revealed "Bigfoot" tested positive for banned substances, turning their dreaded draw into an unsavory "No Contest."

Let's just hope this result sticks ... because Hunt erased any doubt as to who is the better fighter tonight.

Hunt came out pushing the pace early, flinging a low kick just let "Bigfoot" know he was there. He landed a nice right hand to the gut as "Bigfoot" circled away, switching stances, looking for an opening before finally landing with a body kick. Hunt fired back with a hard leg kick, and then another one to the mid-section, as "Bigfoot" continued to take his time. "Bigfoot" connected with a knee and then missed with a hard right cross, neither of which did any type of damage.

Hunt faked a high kick along the fence and then connected with a combination along the cage that appeared to daze "Bigfoot." Moments later, Hunt landed a grazing right hand to the top of his head, which immediately dropped "Bigfoot" to his knees. Hunt followed him to the canvas and landed a clean right hand to a grounded "Bigfoot," compelling the referee to stop the action as the Brazilian's head slumped to the floor.

It wasn't nearly as close as their first encounter, but it was certainly more decisive. That has to count for something.
