Dana White says UFC 193 will top Ronda Rousey's previous bests for gate and pay-per-view buys

If you thought that Ronda Rousey's UFC 190 appearance back in August was big, you aint seen nothing yet.

Despite the fact her 34 second destruction of Bethe Correia was largely seen by fans as a mismatch long before the event took place, it didn't stop the card from drawing over 900,000 buys on pay-per-view.

But in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, UFC president Dana White says he thinks this fight will surpass Rousey's previous mark.

"This thing's trending off the charts," he said. "It's a massive event. Massive event. Yes, it will beat the Brazil fight."

If that happens it might become the first event to top one million buys since UFC 168 when Chris Weidman faced off against Anderson Silva in their rematch, with Rousey co-headlining against Miesha Tate.

According to White, the gate is also doing brisk business as UFC tries to fill the massive soccer stadium which has a 70,000 seat capacity. Although there are reportedly still tickets available they're mainly in the nosebleeds, with the UFC president confirming the expensive ones are all sold out.

Although the gate is hovering in the range of $8.5 million Australian ($6 million USD), it has no chance of topping Toronto's UFC 129 gate at Rogers Centre (SkyDome) in 2011, which brought in over $12 million USD.

White credits Rousey as the main reason for the brisk sales, telling Helwani she arrived in Australia on Halloween and has been promoting the event nonstop ever since.

"The difference between Ronda and everybody else -- obviously she's a huge superstar in and outside of the octagon -- is she grinds, man. She puts in the work. She works like no other fighter we have on the roster, ever, in the history of the roster."
