Rose Namajunas made a return to UFC action for the first time since her disappointing loss to Carla Esparza last December by dispatching her fellow "TUF 20" competitor Angela Hill in the first round of their preliminary matchup in Houston, Texas.
Check out the play-by-play for the fight below:
Namajunas firing her jab early. Right hand lands for her. Body shot and combination by Namajunas and they slug it out. Rose takes her to the fence in the clinch, can't hit a head-and-arm throw. Good knee in the plum from Hill before they separate. One minute in. 1-2 by Thug Rose. She's doing good work with her jab. Low kick by Hill. Rose hits a lovely takedown behind a right hand, landing in half guard. Hill manages to regain full guard. Two minutes in. Rose working to pass, Hill fighting it off with a knee shield. Hill gives up her back and Rose latches onto the RNC as Hill stands. Both hooks in and that is deep. Hill stumbles unconsciously to the mat, thankfully in less violent fashion than Jingliang Li last week, and Rose has the technical submission win.
