World Series of Fighting (WSOF) returns to Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz., on Nov. 20, 2015, with a special one-night Lightweight tournament that will feature eight of the promotion's top 155-pound fighters going toe-to-toe.
The last man standing will receive the next title shot against current Lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
There is a catch, though: If tournament fighter is unable to advance because of injury, he can be replaced by someone from the two tournament reserve bouts.
WSOF recently announced that the two reserve matches would feature "The Cannibal" LaRue Burley (6-1) vs. Joe Condon (12-8) and "El Hijo" Benny Madrid (8-3) vs. Ramil Mustapayev (3-1). WSOF also announced a new start time, 11 p.m. ET, for the NBC Sports broadcast on fight night.
WSOF President Ray Sefo offered his thoughts:
"Our tournament line up is officially complete with the addition of these match ups, and we are looking forward to having the four talented fighters selected for these two important fights, compete on this historic card and be prepared to enter the single-elimination contest if necessary."
The four official WSOF 25 Lightweight tournament brackets will feature:
* Mike Ricci vs. Brian Cobb
* Luis Palomino vs. Rich Patishnock
* Brian Foster vs. Joao Zeferino
* Jorge Patino vs. Islam Mamedov
WSOF has also booked a non-tournament Lightweight co-main event between Jason High (18-5) and Estevan Payan (16-8, 1 NC) to be followed by the finals of the eight-man tournament.
