Mark Striegl to face undefeated Australian Jordan Lucas at ONE: 'Spirit of Champions' in Manila

Mark Striegl returns to the ONE Championship cage this December and the Filipino bantamweight has been handed a tough assignment against undefeated Australian Jordan Lucas. Their fight will be the co-main event of the December 11th card at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.

The event entitled ONE: "Spirit of Champions" will be headlined by a previously announced heavyweight title fight between Chi Lewis Parry and Brandon Vera. The fighters are all in Manila this week for a press conference to publicize a card which will also feature former boxing world champion Ana Julaton.

Striegl (14-1) was one of the most sought after free agents in the MMA world when his deal with PXC expired last year. The 27 year old decided to sign with ONE Championship and made his debut in April, submitting previously undefeated American Casey Suire in the opening round.

Striegl will be looking to register a win over another undefeated contender when he takes on Lucas (8-0). The 21 year old is the Brace For War 135-pound champion and signed for ONE Championship after winning an eight man tournament with the Australian promotion in 2014.

The card will also see the return of Julaton (2-1) who is best known for being a former boxing world champion. The Fil-Am flyweight will be taking on Russia's Irina Mazepa (1-0) who is coming off a first round TKO win over Ann Osman in her pro MMA debut.

The final fight announced this week sees Ruel Catalan (2-6) looking to snap his two-fight losing skid when he takes on Alex Silva (2-1). The Brazilian has been away from the cage for more than two years but coincidentally his last win was over Ruel's brother Rene.
