Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight contender John Lineker recently returned to the promotion's 135-pound division -- thanks to this -- and has no plans of ever going back. Well, at least not while he's wrecking shop at the higher weight.
Case in point: his recent submission win over the venerable Francisco Rivera at the UFC 191 pay-per-view (PPV) event back in September (video). Impressive, but does "Hands of Stone" have the power to knockout TJ Dillashaw or Dominick Cruz?
"For sure," Lineker told MMA Fighting. "They move a lot, but that's not a problem. They would have to get closer to hit me, and once you get closer, I'm hitting you back. I would not hunt them down, I would let them come."
Dillashaw puts his title on the line against Cruz at UFC Fight Night 81 (details here).
As for Lineker (26-7), he currently awaits his next assignment, but is hoping for an opponent who is ranked in the top five of his division (see it here).
That said, I heard this guy is coming back to bantamweight with something to prove...
