Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum did exactly what the promotion asked him to do. Namely, travel to hostile territory -- twice -- to battle local favorite Cain Velasquez in Mexico City for the 265-pound strap.
Now it's his turn.
"There's a soccer stadium in Curitiba with a retractable roof, so it's probably going to be there," Werdum told MMA Fighting. "This fight will happen in a soccer stadium because a lot of people are waiting for this. I've fought at his home twice. He wasn't there to fight the first time, and I fought him the second time. It's my turn now."
The date of their heavyweight do-over -- made official in late August -- has yet to be determined. That said, the promotion's line up is jam-packed through January (see it), so late winter or early spring is looking more and more likely.
Especially if it needs to accommodate this.
