If Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Jon Jones has low testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) levels (see them here), it's not because he was on steroids. That's according to Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), who cleared "Bones" of any wrongdoing -- at least on the testosterone front -- after releasing the results of his carbon isotope ratio (CIR) test.
"His urine samples were tested, and according to our doctor he doesn't have a concern with the results of the urinalysis test at this time," NSAC Executive Director Bob Bennett told MMA Fighting.
Jones tested positive for cocaine metabolites back on Dec. 4, 2014, even though the purpose of the exam was to look for performance-enhancing drugs prior to the champ's UFC 182 title defense against Daniel Cormier earlier this month in Las Vegas.
"Bones" -- who may have been the last to know -- checked himself into rehab back on Tuesday (read his statement here).
Cormier was also subjected to the same testing and passed with flying colors. Unfortunately, that's of little consolation, since he was shut down in their five-round title fight in "Sin City" and now has to work his way back up to another crack at the crown.
As for the unanswered questions surrounding the Jones drug test fiasco, expect those to be downplayed answered at the next NSAC meeting on Jan. 12.
See you then.
