Donald Cerrone vs Ben Henderson booked for UFC Fight Night 59 with Eddie Alvarez scratched

No rest for the wicked ...

Donald Cerrone pleaded with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White to give him a quick turnaround match after his "upsetting" unanimous decision win over Myles Jury this past weekend at UFC 182.

How about less than two weeks?

Indeed, White revealed on Instagram tonight that Cerrone will collide with Ben Henderson at UFC Fight Night 59, which takes place at TD Garden in Boston, Mass., on Jan. 18, 2015, because Eddie Alvarez has been forced out of the Lightweight match for undisclosed reasons.

Cerrone and Henderson are certainly not strangers, meeting for the first time back in 2009 for the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) interim 155-pound title. Henderson won that bout via unanimous decision then doubled-up "Cowboy" six months later with an effortless guillotine choke submission.

Will the third time be the charm for Cerrone?

Henderson, a former Lightweight champion, is out for redemption thanks to a "controversial" first-round knockout loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 49 back in Aug. 2014.

UFC Fight Night 59 features a main event between Irish Featherweight superstar, Conor McGregor, taking on German panzer, Dennis Siver. To check out the most up-to-date UFC Fight Night 59: "McGregor vs. Siver" fight card and rumors click here.
