UFC rankings updated after UFC 182: Donald Cerrone, Hector Lombard climb after impressive victories in Las Vegas

New, comments

And fortunately for Daniel Cormier, he didn't lose his No. 2 ranking at light heavyweight after coming up short against division kingpin Jon Jones. His spot on the pound-for-pound list, well, that's a different story.

The official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings have been updated following UFC182, which went down this past weekend (Sat. Jan., 3, 2015) from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las vegas, Nevada.

Get full results here.

Donald Cerrone surpassed Gilbert Melendez for the No. 3 spot in the lightweight division after his dominant win over Myles Jury in the co-main event of the evening (video), helping his cause for a potential shot at the title on Rafael dos Anjos gets his opportunity at UFC 185 (details here).

Hector Lombard also climbed the ladder, moving up one spot to No. 5 at welterweight after he outscored Josh Burkman on all three judges scorecards in the opening bout of the pay-per-view (PPV) portion of the card (highlights).

Kyoji Horiguchi made the biggest jump, though, as he went up three spots to crack the top 10 at No. 8 after his win over Louis Gaudinot, who fell of the flyweight list completely with the loss (recap).

In the main attraction of the evening, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defeated Daniel Cormier after five rounds of action (video). Despite the devastating loss, "DC" managed to hold on to his No. 2 spot right behind Alexander Gustafsson, but lost his spot on the pound-for-pound list.
