Okay, so here's the worst possible news we could get heading into February.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman has been injured -- yes, again -- and pulled from his UFC 184 pay-per-view (PPV) title fight against Vitor Belfort, originally scheduled for the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., on Feb. 28, 2015.
MMA Junkie was first to report the change.
With "All American" sidelined due to torn rib cartilage, the co-main event showdown between Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano will take over as headliner. "Rowdy" is putting her 135-pound strap on the line against the undefeated "Alpha," in what is a fight nearly two years in the making.
A new date and venue for the middleweight grudge match has yet to be revealed (rumored to be April or May); however, you can expect those details to be forthcoming in the next couple of days, if not sooner, as well as statements from both camps about the postponement.
Total bummer.
