Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo will defend his 145-pound strap against new No. 1 title contender Conor McGregor, in what is already being billed as the biggest fight in the history of the division.
And he'll do it as the 9/5 favorite (-180).
That's according to the opening line over at SportsbookReview, which pegs "Notorious" as a 3/2 underdog (+150). They're already penciled in for a headlining title fight at the upcoming UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) event in May (more on that match up here).
McGregor (17-2) punched his ticket to the promised land by disposing of Dennis Siver at the UFC Fight Night 59 mixed martial arts (MMA) event earlier this month in Boston, Mass. (highlights here), in what was his fifth straight UFC win and third straight finish.
Aldo (25-1), meanwhile, hasn't lost in nearly a decade.
Expect these numbers to shift dramatically as we get closer to fight night. Until then, who's rushing out to lay some cheddar on this 145-pound showdown?
And in which direction?
