While World Series of Fighting (WSOF) executives likely expected to be the main topic in the mixed martial arts (MMA) community tonight with WSOF 17: "Shields vs Foster" (results here), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stole some of their thunder by announcing a plethora of enticing matchups for the UFC 186 pay-per-view (PPV) event on April 25 in Montreal, Quebec.

Among the fights scheduled for the Canadian PPV is the return of Quinton Jackson as he takes on Brazilian bruiser Fabio Maldonado. "Rampage" recently returned to UFC after a two year hiatus in Bellator that saw him win three straight fights, including two devastating knockouts over Christian M'Pumbu and Joey Beltran.

Guess that whole legal thing isn't worrying anybody at the ZUFFA headquarters.

As for Maldonado, the Brazilian pugilist put on a show his last time out, battering Hans Stringer en route to a (technical) knockout victory back at UFC 179. Once news broke that Rampage would be returning, Maldonado immediately threw his name in the ringer, and his wish was ultimately granted by UFC matchmakers.

In other action, top 10 middleweights looking to bounce back from tough losses meet as Michael Bisping takes on CB Dollaway. "The Count" was most recently defeated by his rival Luke Rockhold via submission for the first time in his UFC career, while "The Doberman" was tamed by Lyoto Machida's brutal body kick TKO in UFC's final fight of 2014.

With TJ Dillashaw rematching Renan Barao as the evening's main event, UFC 186 is quickly shaping up to be one of the better cards in the earlier half of the year.

Now stay away, injury bug.
