I guess that rules out a Travis Browne fight.
After a 25-minute war against Stipe Miocic, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White warned the mixed martial arts (MMA) community that it would be awhile before Junior dos Santos was able to make his way back into the Octagon.
He wasn't kidding.
Dos Santos (17-3) suffered a lateral collateral ligament injury in his right knee and underwent surgery for a deviated septum, according to MMA Fighting, and does not yet have a timetable for his return. That's particularly distressing because "Cigano" already spent a year-plus on the bench rehabbing a bum hand.
The injuries are starting to pile up and the former heavyweight champ -- who turns 31 later this month -- is competing less frequently. Not that he's washed up by any stretch of the imagination, but it's starting to sound like this grim prediction might come true.
If it hasn't already.
Get well soon!
