The Invicta FC debut on UFC Fight Pass seemed to be going well this past Saturday night (Sept. 6, 2014).
The fights, which saw a bevy of impressive finishes and back-and-forth scraps that went the distance (results), were highly-entertaining and perhaps more importantly, the online stream provided by the digital network went off without a hitch.
That was, however, until the main event of the evening.
For the first two-and-half rounds, the stream was going great, but right before fans got to witness Michelle Waterson successfully defend her atomweight title by finishing Yasuko Tamada, the feed went haywire and fans saw nothing by blank screens.
A bad way to end what was otherwise a very successful Fight Pass debut.
Nevertheless, UFC hears you, the disappointed fan, which is why the ZUFFA-owned company is giving you a 10-percent discount on any upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event. But only if it's purchased through UFC.tv, not cable or satellite providers.
UFC (via Bloody Elbow) has the details:
"During the main event of Invicta FC 8 there was a disruption in the live stream. We noticed that you watched a portion of the live event and we sincerely apologize for this experience. We would like to extend you a 10% discount on one live pay-per-view that occurs before the end of 2014. You may use the following promo code (W3P3ADJPVTF4) to redeem for the 10% discount at any time through the end of 2014."
Strong.
That wasn't the first time Invicta has experienced issues with steaming services. Last year, the all-female fight promotion was forced to refund money to people who ordered the online PPV event, Invicta 7, after technical difficulties forced the company to air it on its website for free.
This most-recent sudden collapse of the stream was a shame, really, because "Karate Hottie" was putting on a stand-up clinic, and no one got to see her put the finishing touches on her masterful performance. One that saw her become the first person to ever stop the tough-as-nails Japanese fighter.
Still, for all you UFC Fight Pass subscribers, the fight is available in its entirety for you to enjoy on the digital network.
Any of you planning of taking advantage of this extremely generous offer?
