Ben Rothwell knocked out Alistair Overeem in the very first round of their heavyweight bout in the co-main event of last night's (Fri., Sept. 5, 2014) UFC Fight Night 50: "Jacare vs. Mousasi" event at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut. "Big" Ben shrugged off a few hard knees to the body and, as he revealed later, a broken forearm from a hard kick, to connect with a hard punch to the temple that put "The Reem" down. The follow up punches proved academic. Rothwell may not be headed for a title shot any time soon but he definitely put himself back on the map with his second straight win following a nine month suspension. As for Overeem, well, his head could be on the Zuffa chopping block.
